Laser Lipolysis

Laser Lipolysis

It is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat from fiber-optic lasers at various wavelengths to melt body fat. The added benefit of laser lipolysis is that it spurs the production of the protein collagen, making skin firmer.

All About Our Laser Lipolysis Treatments

Laser lipolysis is an advanced, FDA-approved cosmetic procedure used to get rid of excess fatty tissue from the body and to contour those areas by tightening the affected skin area. Laser Lipolysis is Designed specifically to target fat in parts of the body resistant and rigid to diet and exercise. Laser lipolysis is a minimally invasive form of aesthetic surgery specifically designed to remove excess body fat. It involves the use of a laser to rapidly dissolve and remove excess fat in target areas such as the thighs, arms, neck, abdomen, and parts of the face, using a minor “keyhole” surgical procedure.

Procedures

Laser lipolysis has the same procedure as the conventional liposuction procedure, except that it uses laser technology. Laser energy heats the fat cells, liquefying them and making them easy to remove through the smaller conduit.

This remarkably reduces the trauma of the procedure. The laser also improves the treatment-area skin, causing it to tighten and conform to the body’s new shapes and contours. The Conventional liposuction often leaves skin loose and hanging.

When performed, laser lipolysis requires only local anesthesia, and is generally well tolerated. Depending on the size and area treated, the procedure can last from less than an hour to several hours. Because the incision is minimal, no sutures are required, and scarring is minimal. In some cases, scarring is not visible. A patient can return home shortly after the procedure is concluded.

Who is not a candidate of Laser Lipolysis

Patients with fat inside the abdomen, loose skin or, deep to the muscles.

Benefits

  • No surgery is necessary

Conventional  liposuction requires surgery to extract fat cells, but laser liposuction is a minimally-invasive procedure. It’s performed under local anesthesia because only a minor incision is made, and most people can return to work in 2-3 days, though results may vary depending on the body system of patients.

It uses the addition of laser energy waves. These relatively low-level waves focus on the treatment area. The laser penetrates the skin and weakens the walls of the fat cells making it easier to be removed.  Through a tiny incision, a small conduit will be inserted under the skin to suck out the melted fat. The laser allows for less discomfort, minimal bruising and swelling and superior results compared to conventional liposuction.

  • Reduces sagging skin

Laser liposuction enhances collagen production, which is a protein found in the skin that helps skin appear tighter and smoother. With the conventional liposuction procedure, some sagging skin might not be evacuated when the fat cells are liquefied and removed. Patients who have laser liposuction will notice more sculpted, toned areas and a more contoured look.
